One of the best albums I have picked up this year, took it down to mexico and had it playing nonstop. This album is catchy, its laidback, entertaining, and diverse, all in one. Makes me wish I knew how to speak portuguese

I love this CD, it's creative, different, romantic, fun and definitely one of my all-time favorites. 5,8,9 are the only songs don't care for. 11 and 12 grew on me after a while and now I really like them. 2,7, and 10 are my favorites.
  • 21st century Brazilian samba funk

Curumin is a breath of fresh air. This is not "new bossa nova" but more on the funky and urban side. The sound is a sophisticated mix of samba, funk, dub, rock, with great electronica thrown on top in for effect. Samba instruments are mixed in with funky bass and drums. If you are into old Jorge Ben and Trio Mocoto, this will be up your alley. If you're not familiar with samba rock but looking for a new groove then pick this one up. It could be dance music or chill out music, depending on your mood. We played this one at a barbeque and everyone was blown away by how cool the sound is.

I haven't had much luck finding good recent brazilian music living in PR. This album was a pleasant surprise, it's like a cross between Stevie Wonder and Jorge Ben Jor. The first four songs are probably my favorites, then the album loses some steam. Don't expect samba, bossa nova or much brazilian percussion. Do expect creative funky fusion.
