From the Iceman himself, a most excellent album. Every track is a great one. "I'm Just Drinkin'" is a blues classic. "Too Many Dirty Dishes" is my favorite, listening to him clean them dishes up.

Buy this album! Whether you a a hardened blues fan or relative newbie to this genre, Collins delivers a must have album in Cold Snap. He mixes styles and grooves, so the album doesn't get stuck in a 12-bar rut. His guitar work is a joy to hear and his vocals are strong. Also, he employs the Tower of Power horns on a few tracks, providing a power surge without being excessive. I love his underlying sense of humor, especially in tracks 3 and 5. Even though the title of track #7 might seem humorous, the song is one of the best example of what blues can be. Collin's guitar work ranges from sound effects to tell the story to soaring and hard-edged solos full of pain. The horns come in and energetically drive the song home. A sidenote: you might recognize Mr. Collins from his uncredited cameo in the film Adventures in Babysitting when he inspired Elisabeth Shue's character and her charges to improvise a blues song to escape. I wore out the vinyl album of this when it came out and was so happy to find it on iTunes. My daily commute just got a lot better!
