  • Survivor's Last Evolution Before Changing Lead Singers

It is an excellent album. In my opinion, much better and more consistent than the previous years Eye of the Tiger. Survivor advanced their sound and sharpened their edge on 1983's Caught In The Game. Still to me it is no wonder why it failed to match the same impact of Eye of the Tiger. Caught In the Game was more intelligent melodic rock and fans wanted another "Eye of the Tiger" catchiness and this album is way above that.
  • Last Great Album

This was a great album and the last rocking effort before the “new” singer came along, R.I.P Jim Jamison. They became very pop and the album sales went through the roof, but this was a better album than any of the latter efforts.

Not sure what the I-Tunes reviewer was listening to, because this album is a great piece of rocking ear candy. Listen and judge for your self. You won't be disappointed

This album was a true classic to Survivor! Frankie's blazing guitar riffs and solos blended with Dave Bickler's strong, wide range of voice is the perfect solution to a perfect album! One of the best albums made by Survivor!

I have to agree with the group saying this is one of the best survivor albums. You cannot go wrong here!

Personally and respecfully disagree with the album's main review. This has to be Survivor's best album to date. Dave Bickler's vocals matches the earlier, guitar-driven days. This is evident in CITG and Jackie Don't Go, two of my favorite Survivor songs (along with Children of the Night).

An absolute classic that most people don't even know about! Great heavy rock guitars, solid vocals and competent songwriting throughout. Caught in the Game and Jackie Don't Go should have easily been top ten tracks. Santa Ana Winds, imo, is also very underrated. Happy to see it on itunes. Please listen!
  • A very, very good album!

I have to disagree with one reviewer: "Santa Ana Winds" is probably the best song musically on this album. I can do without "Slander," though it is a good song, just not my favorite of the album. If you want something to see how good Survivor was before the "Vital Signs" album hit big, this is one to get! I had a copy of this on tape in college, while I was working in the college radio station and I wore that thing out! Until I saw that iTunes had it, I had to get a Japanese copy via eBay! Go get this album and just listen to it!

Such a great album ... and so remember listening to this one in high school. Much more depth to these songs and surprising it never got more air time on the radio.
