In my opinion, this is the Greatest Achievement in music history. Everytime I hear Kate Smith sing this song, I cry. May God Bless America, Irving Berlin, Kate Smith

Much like clownfishman I remember my mother listening to Kate Smith on the radio. I thought it was very square. However, when I need a recorded solo for a church service the other day I found Kate's version and was literally bowled over. What a voice! What a great re-discovery. I'll be back for more.

Where is the introduction? It seems to be missing from all the albums I/ve previewed. The introduction to this song was important to all the WWII soldiers. How can I find that version?

I remember ( I was a child in the 50's) kate on several variety shows and on her own. Opening with When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain and Ending with her perfect rendition of God Bless America. I learned the words to both. ( and to I'll be seeing you). Thanks for making her music AVAILABLE.

I remember as a child watching The Kate Smith show on one of the two channels we got back in the fifties. I thought the show would never end so we could watch something good. All I ever remembered was something about The moon coming over the mountain and God Bless America. By pure chance sometime ago I heard one of her Christmas songs on my car stereo. I couldn't believe my ears! What a difference from a 4 in mono TV speaker! I checked out the album and I truly believe there's never been an alto voice that can touch her. It's just sad that it took me fifty years to appreciate her. If you are in to beautiful clean music, get THIS album. The reviews of other albums are right they are junk.
