I’m so glad this type of music is being produced, it gives hope to queer Christians who feel isolated and ostracized! It makes me sad to see so many haters, but it’s also a sign that something truly meaningful is being communicated here and people are just afraid of change. This album is clever and beautifully done, I will be eagerly anticipating their next release!!!

living as a queer christian often feels like a bifurcated existence. in queer spaces, i feel safe to be ‘out’ orientation-wise in all my rainbow colors. yet, because of the genuine harm christians have inflicted on LGBTQ+ people, I often feel uncomfortable being forward about my identity as a believer. the opposite can be true in christian spaces, where I’m frequently met with tight-lipped smiles and—as Semler muses—suggestions like “let’s grab coffee sometime.” in other words, inquiries about my ‘well-being,’ masking a two-thirds-into-the-conversation segue into invasive questions about my orientation. i’m fortunate to have found genuine community where my identity as a follower of christ can safely overlap with my identity as queer; still, hearing semler’s music for the first time, was a uniquely healing experience for me. queer christian representation matters; it matters that i can see someone loving god with their whole heart, and loving their wife; it matters that other queer voices can feel safe, understood, and affirmed—and i didn’t realize how much this matters, until i realized i had been missing it. semler’s music fills a gap—no, a void—in the christian music industry, and i’m incredibly grateful for their work.

This is not a Christian artist. Christian artists’ don’t curse in their songs and don’t promote a sexually perverted lifestyle. This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and nothing more.

This is one of my favorite albums. It's done a lot to heal my religious trauma.
