I absolutely love this album. I understand why people don’t but come on. He’s a songwriter. He’s supposed to write stories. I understand nobody likes when politics leak in to every form of media but in a time when there seemed to be nothing good he was just trying to send a message through music. If some one like LeBron James came out and said something political some people would follow his word like God’s. But the a songwriter does it is all of the sudden bad. Come on. The musicianship of this album is stellar. Personally, i love American reckoning and it’s so sadly true and beautiful. It really conveys a great message. Also brother in arms and beautiful drugs are THINFS esc. Songs that i absolutely love. Great album

This album shows a real progression in Jon’s music & his life. Excellent music. He continues to produce quality tunes. Like most Bon Jovi fans, I miss Richie Sambora but the music is still top notch.
  • Disappointing but...

I don’t agree with all the political spice he’s used to season this album, especially since the music falls flat and turns out rather bland in the end. But, of all the rock stars preaching a moral and political philosophy, I respect him the most. He puts his money where his mouth is; he helps the homeless, the veterans, is still married to the same woman after countless years, hasn’t bogged himself and others down in controversy. He lives up to the ideals and agenda he’s pushing here, even if the music isn’t what it once was.

I love Bon Jovi but this album is garbage. I listen to music to escape world events. I understand singing about what’s going on in ones life and such, but these songs aren’t even written well.

It’s a shame what’s happened to my favorite band. I knew losing Ritchie would effect them but I didn’t think it would be this bad. What a pile of garbage. Ritchie come back please!!!!

Jovi has not had a decent album since Bounce, and that was more of throwback to early 80s. Best albums are Keep the Faith and These days. This house is alright, but he definately cannot carry a tune anymore. Vocally he is done. Lyrically, Sambora is missed.

To those hating it so much, thanks. 2020 shows so much of the truth, who is growing with this life and who keeps repeating. Bon Jovi is living his life, creates his art and if you like it, fine if you don't, still fine! Legacy doesn't mean staying the same and make some of you happy. He transferred his emotions and I loved it. As most true artists you grow and you change. He is not here for us, he is here to find his own path, some will see themselves in his lyrics, I have.
  • Excellent album

LOL, look at all these butthurt reviewers. This is actually a superb album. It is more new age sounding which, by default, makes it less 80s-style hard rock. And, yes, the pandemic song is modern country, which I typically detest, but this song was really well-done. Every song contains a contemporary reference but artists are free to express themselves in their works based on the times in which they live. You can ignore the words, couldn’t you, and listen to a song for its music? That’s what we do for classical music anyway.

If anyone were to submit this tape to a record label in hopes of landing a deal, they would be laughed out of the building. All the taken belongs to Richie Sambora and Desmond Child. Jon clearly has no talent on his own.
