  • one of the best albums ever. Seriously.

If you're a rock fan, a grunge fan, and alternative rock fan, or a classic rock fan...this is simply one of the best albums of all time. Half of Pearl Jam and half of Soundgarden before EITHER were famous. The most famous single, "Hunger Strike," is such an odd lyric for a single, but it features both PJ and Soundgarden's lead singers doing what they do best. Most of the rest of the album is just Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) on lead, but the lyrics, melodies, and songwriting are seriously the best collection of songs that anyone involved ever put out. It stands the test of time better than any PJ or Soundgarden album. Cornell's shrieks that sometimes turned off non-metal fans are incredible but TUNEFUL in a classic rock way. The unrelatable lyrics and weird twists and turns that Soundgarden sometimes featured? Nah. These are songs you could play on acoustic guitar around a campfire in unplugged versions. Every song is a keeper.

This album is an excellent example of early 90’s alternative. Soundgarden meets Pearl Jam to honor the loss of Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone. This album is great, do not sleep on this. So, reach down and pick this album up.

This is the very first CD I ever bought back in college in the early 90’s. You never forget your first. I still love a lot of these songs. RIP Chris.

This album, to me, is the quintessential album to start the 1990s. Awesome time for music.

Imagine if Pearl Jam had Chris Cornell singing for them...well no more because this sounds like that. I love everything about this album...and I still love Pearl Jam and Sound garden too.

Chris Cornell. What more needs to be said. His voice sends goosebumps all over me. This album is fantastic still, today in 2020. Give it a listen, you won't regret it.

I had this on cassette tape back in the day. I can’t remember if I had loaned it out and never got it back or I had played it so much the tape broke but, it was a cool tape nonetheless. Favorite tracks are Say Hello 2 Heaven, Hunger Strike, and Wooden Jesus.
