By rachmaninoff in c# minor - mediocre performance
bought just one track, rachmaninoff's prelude in c# minor. I absolutely love this song by Rachmaninoff but this version doesn't do it justice. I would return it if I could.
  • Like wallpaper music...

Although Pollack's playing is very solid & competent, his musicianship is mostly wooden at best, thus presenting an album that is sort of like 'wallpaper' music.
  • Excellent for listeners and students alike.

It's very hard to find a recording of a piano that doesn't sound like a cardboard box and a tin can. The sound quality is better than most recordings. The selection of music is outstanding and covers most of the essentials of romantic piano music. Use for a candlelight dinner for a romantic date is a must. Daniel Pollack is a world renowned pianist whose every note plays symphonies to the ear. The musicianship involved in this album absolutley brings truth to the phrase "Music can tame the savage beast."
