There are not a lot of albums that I would play from start to finish without skipping a few songs. This is one of those albums. Soulful blues with a lot of that minor sounding twang to it but, walking a tight rope right next to rock and roll. Many times falling raucously over with enthusiasm and reckless abandon. This group gets a lot of publicity and attention but, it's not nearly enough to match their talent and musicianship.

Alabama Shake's dynamic groove brings together soulful vocals and blues-filled tunes to create an album captured with throwback melodies. The modern twist is genuinely only described by the genre "alternative". Through "Boys & Girls" Alabama Shakes truly shines with songs full of heart and soul with respective rock tones and innovative style. A beautiful listen for any lover of blues and the captivating rhythms.

This album is a strong collection of alternative rock with huge southern roots and one of the greatest living vocalists working in the business today (Brittany Howard).

There is no album I like more in this world. The songs themselves, the order they are in, the sound of them as a collective. There's nothing I don't love about this album. I really really feel when I listen to it, and you can't put a rating on that, but it's beautiful.
